Most Asked Range Questions

1. Can I use the range Sunday morning? No gun fire on the range Sunday mornings until after 12 noon.

2. Can I shoot my .50 BMG? No .50 BMG or caliber made from the base cartridge.

3. Is full auto allowed? No full auto gun fire on any MTSA range, this includes bump stocks & force reset triggers.

4. What are the hours of operation? Range is open for use during daylight hours only, Sunrise to 8:00PM, except Sunday mornings, 12:00 noon until 8:00PM.

5. Can I bring a visitor? Visitors must have active member with them. Please wear/have membership card.

6.  Can my under age child use the range? Under age (under 18 years) shooters must have parent or legal guardian with them to use the range.

7. Is the range always open? There is no guarantee that every day range areas will be availability at any time. (Range maintenance, competition events and work days will have an effect on availability) 

8.  Are their competitions on the range? Saturdays are competition days. Most events are finished by 2:00PM

9. Can I shoot steel in the pistol bays? There is no rifle rated steel inside the action pistol bays. No rifle engagement of steel allowed in the pistol bays. (Standard Pistol ammo only. May only be shot with a pistol or Pistol caliber carbine.)

10. Are we checked for membership? Please have your Range ID card on you. Random membership checks may happen.  

11. Is there a speed limit on the range roads? Range access road has a 15MPH speed limit.

12. Do we have cleanup crews at the range? No. Please clean up, if cans are full, pull it and place it into the trash dumpster at the rifle range. Additional bags in the rifle shed.

13. When are annual Dues paid?  All annual dues are to be paid in full, in the month of January of each year. No prorating of dues allowed for late payment. $25 late fee added on March 1st for late payments.

14. Who is in charge of the range? As a member only club, the first person on site is in charge. On match days the event director is in charge. One of the official Range officers may take over if present. (Robert Standley or Butch Legg).
